Cable manufacturing
How a cable factory builds tender packs without chasing documents, with Renvel
A cable factory chased files across teams for every tender. It typed 50 to 60 spec sheets a day by hand. We built a demo that reads a tender, picks the right files, fills the forms and shows what's missing. A deal is being agreed.
- 12,000
- product codes connected
- ~6
- fields per form filled by AI
- 50–60
- spec sheets a day were typed by hand
The problem: no register, and every pack is late
Every tender needs a pack. Certificates. ISO. Test reports. References. Plant experience. Equipment lists. Maker's authorisation forms. Inspection plans.
But there was no register of these documents.
So for every lot, a sales manager had to ask technical control and production for the right files. Then wait. Packs went out late, most often while waiting on technical control.
There was a second job too. Product spec sheets were typed into the accounting system by hand, 50 to 60 a day. Too slow.
The team didn't use ChatGPT for any of this. In their words, it was easier to do it themselves from templates.
What we set up: a demo that builds the pack
For tenders:
- You upload the tender's requirements.
- The AI reads them and picks the right documents by tag: product type and lot.
- It fills the standard forms, about 6 fields each.
- It tells the manager what's missing.
- It hides confidential supplier prices.
Fixed documents like ISO, accreditation and calibration are always attached in full. Complex technical plans stay with a person to check.
For spec sheets: a spec builder turns their Excel files into the spec format, so nobody has to type them.
It's connected to their accounting system: about 600 files and 12,000 product codes.
Results: where it stands today
This one is not live yet. Here's the honest status.
The demo is built. It shows the upload, the AI check, the folders, the deadlines and the list of missing documents.
A commercial deal is being agreed. The client wants to own the code. That's how we work anyway: you own what we build.
We'll update this page when it goes live.
The main pain: there's no register. For every lot, the manager must ask the tech team and the plant for the files.
